The HHS Office for Civil Rights and CMS released a final rule that strengthens protections against discrimination in health care based on race, color, national origin, gender, age and disability, while expanding protections to reduce language access barriers, expand physical and digital accessibility, and address bias in health technology.

HRSA issued a rule that finalizes new requirements and procedures to make the administrative dispute resolution process available to 340B covered entities. The rule now includes a 340B ADR process that will assist covered entities and manufacturers to resolve disputes regarding overcharging, duplicate discounts and diversion. The rule takes effect Tuesday, June 18.

Now available to authorized users of HIDI Advantage® is a summary and comprehensive analysis of the proposed updates to the Medicare SNF PPS for FFY 2025. The analysis compares estimates for FFYs 2024 and 2025, which includes updates to the market basket, productivity reductions mandated by the ACA, forecast error adjustments, wage index and SNF Value-Based Purchasing program. The estimated increase in FFY 2025 Medicare SNF payments for Missouri facilities is 5.7%.
The analysis does not include effects caused by high-cost outliers, payments for managed care patients, or any modification in fee-for-service payments as a result of hospital participation in new payment models being tested under Medicare demonstration or pilot programs. The analysis also does not include the effects of the 2% Medicare sequestration. Comments about the proposed rule must be submitted by Tuesday, May 28.

CMS is encouraging interested parties to provide comments to MACs who have issued a proposed local coverage determination policy about skin substitute grafts used for chronic nonhealing diabetic foot and venous leg ulcer coverage. The comment period is open until Saturday, June 8.
