A dependable supply chain also ensures that health care workers have consistent access to necessary protective gear, reducing the risk of infection and maintaining a safe work environment. By safeguarding against disruptions and ensuring the continuous flow of critical resources, supply chain integrity enhances the overall quality of health care services provided.

Supply Chain Shortage Reporting Tool

To support ongoing health care system pharmaceutical and supply chain shortages, hospitals are encouraged to report any supply chain disruptions as they arise in one of two ways. The information provided will  improve situational awareness and allow MHA to facilitate technical support and coordination among local, state and federal entities as deemed necessary. This information also will help MHA understand the extent and impact of the shortage to inform advocacy efforts and provide technical assistance to mitigate shortages.

To help spread the word, print this flyer and display it in key areas within your facility.

Supply Chain Integrity Program

Pharmaceutical and Supply Chain Integrity for Hospitals 

In recognition of the significant impact supply chain disruptions continue to have on patient care, the Missouri Hospital Association has prioritized the use of federal grant funds to help member hospitals increase supply chain resiliency. By participating in this unique Supply Chain Integrity Program, health care staff will learn critical skills to improve supply chain management and can qualify to earn a stipend to replenish supplies, increase PAR levels or participate in a supply chain process improvement visit.

Participate and qualify for the stipend in 4 easy steps!

  1. Complete and return the signed letter of intent by Aug. 2 to Sheala Dusheke.
  2. A staff member from your organization must participate in all four parts of our complimentary virtual education series, which explores the current state of health care supply chain management, including supplies, equipment and pharmaceuticals. We highly encourage as many staff from your organization to attend as possible, and for continuity recommend that the same staff member is present at each session. Learn more and register here.

  3. Upon verifying your organization’s attendance at all four sessions, MHA will send an application for you to complete no later than Sept. 30* indicating your preferred use of the stipend. You may choose from one of the following options.
    • Purchase supplies to replenish supply caches or increase PAR levels. (Hospital receives stipend check directly.)
    • Participate in a supply chain process improvement visit. (MHA will pay for the on-site assessment on the hospital’s behalf.)

    *Stipend amounts will be a minimum of $8,600 per hospital and may increase based on the total number of program participants.

  4. Submit required documentation — outlined as follows — to MHA no later than Jan. 31, 2025.
    • To purchase supplies, you must submit:
      • Application
      • Invoice – no purchase orders. Must show item name, quantity and price.
      • Proof of receipt (i.e. packing slip, internal receipt documentation). Must show item name and quantity received.
      • Proof of payment (i.e. copy of check, receipt showing credit card payment, statement/official accounting document). Purchase supplies to replenish supply caches or increase PAR levels. (Hospital receives stipend check directly.)
    • For a process improvement visit, you must submit:
      • Application

Mutual Aid Agreement

The Missouri Hospital Mutual Aid Agreement establishes a coordinated system through which hospitals throughout Missouri and in adjoining states will provide mutual aid to each other as necessary to support emergency medical care needs in a medical disaster.
