MHA Requests Workplace Violence Data

Staff Contact: Robert Loseman

In 2023, MHA reintroduced its initiative to collect reported incidents of aggression against health care workers to quantify the prevalence of workplace violence occurring within Missouri hospitals. The chart below offers a summary of incidents reported to MHA this past year.

Increased organizational participation is requested in 2024. Please consider submitting cumulative data using the provided Excel-based collection tool. While MHA will analyze the data on a quarterly basis, hospitals may choose to submit data at a frequency most suitable to their facility. Organizations facing challenges in obtaining comprehensive data are encouraged to provide, at minimum, the total number of incidents per month. Submit completed surveys to wpvdata@mhanet.com.

MHA Updates Quality Reporting Guides

MHA updated the acute care, critical access hospital and specialty services quality reporting guides to reflect requirements effective with Jan. 1, 2024, dates of service. The guides support hospitals with reporting quality measures through various reporting programs. Access the guides for direct sources of information and to stay up-to-date on measure specifics.

2023 Population Health

Population Health Assessment

MHA recently completed its 2023 Population Health Assessment Survey — an important tool for hospitals and health systems to evaluate their progress in transitioning to a value-based environment. This report summarizes the survey results statewide and by hospital type, and the information derived from this survey will be used as a basis for driving MHA’s population health improvement strategy. Customized reports were disseminated to health systems/hospitals that completed the survey in early February.

Supply Chain Shortage Reporting Tool

To support ongoing health care system pharmaceutical and supply chain shortages, hospitals are encouraged to report any supply chain disruptions as they arise. Shortages may be reported in EMResource or via an online form. A printable flyer with a QR code is available. The data will help MHA provide technical assistance and inform advocacy efforts as appropriate.
