The Board of Healing Arts and Board of Nursing filed proposed rules eliminating regulatory requirements around geographic proximity. Public comments are being accepted until Monday, April 1. MHA encourages hospitals to comment on the proposed changes.

The MO HealthNet Division now will allow occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants to provide behavioral health services to eligible MHD fee-for-service participants. OT services are covered as an Early and Periodic Screening Diagnostic and Treatment service for children through age 20 when providing a medically necessary service related to a behavioral health diagnosis that is ordered by an APRN, physician or other practitioner of the healing arts, and is within the scope of the licensed occupational therapists’ or licensed occupational therapy assistants’ practice.

CMS released CMS Abstraction and Reporting Tool IPFQR version 2.3.2, which removes retired measures HBIPS-5 and TOB-2/2a. This CART version can be used for CY 2023 dates of service as well as to abstract IMM-2 through March 31. Installation instructions and other resources are available on QualityNet.

DHSS updated Missouri’s Adult Abuse and Neglect Hotline online reporting application on Monday, Feb. 26. Online reporting now is available for all concerned individuals and should only be used to report non-emergencies. Mandated reporters are encouraged to make their adult abuse and neglect reports online to help keep the hotline open to the public.
