MHA Releases Medicare Quality Program Analysis

HEALTHPAC Serves As Investment In Future Of Hospitals, Health Care

MHA published an analysis of the Medicare Value-Based Purchasing program and quality measure trending reports. Although CAHs are exempt from the Medicare IPPS pay-for-performance programs, the quality measure trending reports are available for CAHs that submit quality data to CMS. Policy and analytic studies, prepared for distribution by HIDI, are available for download to authorized users of HIDI Advantage®.

CMS released FFY 2026 Medicare hospice, inpatient rehabilitation, inpatient psychiatric, LTCH and IPPS proposed payment and policy updates.
MHA will schedule a meeting for the short-term acute inpatient hospital advisory group and the post short-term acute hospital advisory group to determine areas of the proposed rules that require comments. If you are interested in becoming a member of either of the advisory groups, please contact Andrew Wheeler. MHA soon will publish an issue brief for each of the proposed rules.

MHA’s political action committee, HEALTHPAC, is one of the most effective ways to ensure hospitals have a united voice when decisions are made impacting the delivery of health care in Missouri. While no statewide elections will take place in 2025, raising funds for HEALTHPAC is still important this year.
“Each election cycle is two years,” said Jane Drummond, MHA’s general counsel and senior vice president of governmental relations. “There are contribution limits for the primary and general elections. If we only collected HEALTHPAC contributions during election years, we would not have enough funding to meet our contribution goals for the two-year cycle.”
