As a result, the Conditions of Participation for specialty psychiatric hospitals located in Appendix AA will be revised and incorporated into the hospital CoPs located in Appendix A. Appendix AA eventually will be deleted. Psychiatric hospitals will have one set of regulatory and guidance documents to follow. The state agency now will be responsible to survey all tags, including B tags, given CMS no longer will use a special contractor to survey those tags.
