CMS issued revised guidelines for Community Mental Health Centers. The agency updated the State Operations Manual-Appendix F to reflect changes made in the Hospital OPPS final rule released in November 2023. Among other requirements, intensive outpatient services were added as a new level of care.

Paul Hopkins has been named the director of Kanas City VA Medical Center, effective Feb. 26. Hopkins replaces Paula Roychaudhuri who had been serving as the interim director. James Warren will replace Paul Hopkins as the interim director of John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

MHA and the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative were among the organizations that hosted the 2024 Maternal & Infant Health Convening on March 5-6 in Chesterfield, Mo. With more than 300 attendees, this year’s event doubled in size from last year. Participants enjoyed a wide array of programming — from expert panelists speaking on maternal health equity to informative breakout sessions on chronic conditions, rural OB and pediatric care, and community-centered support services.
