Board Of Pharmacy Publishes Automated Dispensing Rules
CMS Releases New Resources Under EMTALA

The Missouri Board of Pharmacy published the final order of rulemaking on 20 CSR 2220-2.900 Class N: Health Care Facility Automated Dispensing Systems and 20 CSR 2220-2.910 Class O: Automated Dispensing Systems (Ambulatory Care) in the Feb. 1 issue of the Missouri Register. The full text of the proposed rules were originally published Oct. 16, 2023.

CMS issued a press release regarding resources to help hospitals meet requirements under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act. The agency notes an increase in reports of EMTALA concerns to state agencies. CMS posted new information for the public and is committed to working with state agencies and hospitals on the issue. MHA reached out to our state agency requesting consideration and collaboration with CMS on EMTALA and issues of boarding.
