DMH published 19 CSR 30-7.010 Behavioral Health Crisis Centers, which outlines proposed requirements that must be met to operate as a crisis center. Hospitals are encouraged to submit comment on the proposed rule by Jan. 15, 2023, by mail to Department of Mental Health, Denise Thomas, P.O. The CDC expanded use of the updated bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months and older following the FDA’s approval last week.
State standing orders for this expanded use will be available soon. The CDC also updated its Interim Clinical Considerations for COVID-19 Vaccines to include these updates.

The Flex Monitoring Team released its MBQIP Quality Measures National Annual Report and State Annual Reports based on 2021 data from critical access hospitals. The 2021 report uses MBQIP quality data, including measures in all four MBQIP domains: Patient Safety/Inpatient, Outpatient, Patient Engagement and Care Transitions. The FMT also produces state-level annual MBQIP reports for each of the 45 states that participate in the Flex Program.

CMS released CMS Abstraction and Reporting Tool IPFQR version 2.2.0. Installation instructions and other resources are available on QualityNet. Of note, there is not an available upgrade process for those who previously installed CART-IPFQR version 1.0.1. Users who previously installed it into an existing Quality Management System and need to continue to use IQR and/or OQR CART should contact the CMS Service Center at 1-866-288-8912 for assistance.
Congratulations to Janine Haynes on 25 years of service to MHA!
Janine is the assistant to the senior vice president of administration and CFO. In this role, Janine processes and manages payroll and employee benefits, works with different accounting processes (budgets and audits) and human resources, proofs and generates board and committee agendas, and processes registrations for MHA’s convention.
Janine is proud to be part of the team at MHA because the association is very engaged with its members and staff.
Outside of MHA, Janine enjoys being active outdoors, bike riding on the Katy Trail and going to Pensacola Beach. She adores her husband, two children and their spouses, and three grandchildren, and she loves being with coworkers and friends for Bunco and Third Friday Group.
