Tomorrow’s the day! After months of hearing from candidates campaigning, voters will finally have their say in Missouri’s primary election Tuesday, Aug. 6. The stakes are high and your vote matters.
This year’s elections — especially tomorrow’s primary — will have long-term implications for patients, communities and hospital organizations across the state. The primaries will determine which candidates will appear on the November general election ballot. Selecting the candidates that best understand and share our values will be essential to hospitals in the future.
Here are some reminders before you vote.
- Learn about the candidates that MHA has endorsed.
- Listen to the latest PolicyHuddle podcast to find out more about the importance of voting and why MHA supports Mike Kehoe for governor and Lincoln Hough for lieutenant governor.
- Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. tomorrow. Find your polling place.
- Missouri employers are required to give their staff time off to vote on Election Day.
- Make sure you bring an acceptable form of identification to the polls.
- If you have limited mobility or physical disabilities, ask your local election authority about accessible voting.
- Encourage your friends, family and neighbors to vote. If they need a ride to the polls, offer to drive them.
