The Missouri Senate on April 25 perfected a Senate substitute for SB 751, which prohibits pharmaceutical manufacturers from restricting the number of contract pharmacies that may be used by entities participating in the 340B Drug Pricing Program. The bill must receive a final vote in the Senate before moving to the House for consideration. The House previously approved substantially similar language in HB 2267. If the House adopts the Senate language without any changes, the measure will head to the governor’s desk for signature.

MHA released a summary and comprehensive analysis of proposed updates to the Medicare IRF PPS for FFY 2025. The analysis compares FYs 2024 and 2025, which includes updates to the market basket, market-basket reductions mandated by the ACA, case-mix group updates and updates to the wage index. In aggregate, IRFs in Missouri will see an estimated increase of 3.34% for services paid under the IRF PPS.

The analysis does not include the effects of payments for managed care patients, sequestration, or any modification in fee-for-service payments as a result of hospital participation in new payment models being tested under Medicare demonstration or pilot programs. The analysis, which is available online for authorized users of HIDI Advantage^®, includes a summary for the nation, Missouri, health systems and individual hospitals. Hospitals have until Tuesday, May 28, to review their hospital-specific data and submit comments regarding the proposed rule.
