Overview

Health care reform and increasing regulatory pressures make hospital board oversight more complex and challenging than ever. Hospital trustees are responsible for ensuring the financial stability of their hospital and the quality of care for patients in this environment of significant change and complexity.

This four-part on-demand governance education series identifies trends in 2023 and provides resources to help hospital boards operate most effectively. Sessions include information of value to MHA members, including acute care hospitals, federal and state hospitals, and specialty hospitals in rural and urban areas. Throughout the series, the governance implications of each topic will be highlighted. Each session concludes with discussion questions to support effective hospital leadership and trustee conversations.

Sessions

Sessions are prerecorded, about 20 minutes in length and are offered on demand to be used in the format of choice.

  • Session I —The 2023 Health Care Landscape: Financial Megatrends
with Introduction by Jon D. Doolittle, MHA President and CEO
  • Session II — The 2023 Health Care Landscape: Workforce Megatrends
  • Session III — The Board’s Role in Planning During Uncertain Times
