Overview

Coaching is a leader’s priority for improving employee and organizational performance, yet few leaders learn to be good coaches. This session will examine what skills it takes to be a good coach and explain how to create a culture of coaching in your hospital.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

- analyze reasons for job dissatisfaction relative to coaching
- discuss elements of creating a coaching culture in a health care organization
- identify the primary behaviors of effective coaches in a health care setting

Speaker

Mike Freel, Ph.D., is the health care program director at Bellevue University’s College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Freel has a professional health care background and experience in corporate organization and employee development. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Education Advisory Group for the Nebraska Hospital Association. He earned his doctorate in human resources development with a leadership and organizational change focus from the University of Nebraska.

For cancellations received in writing before the established deadline date, the registrant will receive a full refund — minus a $50* processing fee per registrant. After the deadline date, no refunds will be granted. Registrants not in attendance will be responsible for the full registration fee. Substitutions are encouraged. We reserve the right to cancel this program because of insufficient registration.
