Are You RansomWary Enough? — Virtual Event

Audience

hospital accounting staff, accounts payable staff, finance personnel, IT and security personnel and chief financial officers

Overview

The key to understanding the threat of ransomware is not assuming if your organization will be victimized, but when. Ransomware incidents have become a virtual epidemic, with 90% of attacks occurring through email. From loss of data to employee turnover, ransomware poses a very real threat. Education, training and a sophisticated understanding is imperative to protect and secure your organization.

This presentation will guide your team in developing proactive and defensive tactics to best protect your organization from cyberthreats.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

    • understand ransomware and how it affects your organization
    • learn best practices and training tactics on defense mechanisms
    • learn about advanced protection opportunities for payments

Speakers

Josh Black is a Security Operations Specialist and leads Paymerang's email security, endpoint protection and vulnerability scanning programs. Black has more than 12 years of experience in the financial services sector with Bank of America and Envestnet MoneyGuide. He has spent the last year focused on risk management, security awareness training programs and cyber investigations.

Sierre Lindgren is a Senior Fraud Analyst at Paymerang. In addition to overseeing Paymerang's fraud team, Lindgren helps create new fraud mitigation tools, policies and procedures, and she analyzes recent fraud trends and schemes. She also spends time educating business offices nationwide on how to protect themselves from fraud during thought leadership presentations. Before Paymerang, Lindgren spent 11 years in the banking industry, with the last five of those years focused on fraud and investigating ACH, wire and debit card fraud disputes from customers. Lindgren holds degrees in psychology and criminal justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. When she's not fighting fraud, she enjoys spending time with her two children and rescue dogs on the Rappahannock River.
