The Missouri transparency initiative’s price and quality outcomes data, along with annual community investment data and self-pay discount percentages, were updated Oct. 21. Hospitals may preview their data through Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Beginning in 2025, all transparency data will be updated annually rather than quarterly to provide comprehensive and fully audited data in a more streamlined process. This updated process will still align with statutory requirements while allowing more time to be devoted to informing and educating the public to increase awareness of and engagement with this important data. The timing for the updated data reporting and review processes will be communicated to relevant hospital staff in 2025. In the meantime, all public-facing data will continue to be available on Focus on Hospitals, and quality data updates can be found in various reports in HIDI’s Advantage Optics, within the Care Optics folder.

A detailed memo outlining the current data and process, along with improvements for 2025, was emailed to selected staff earlier this week.

The MHA SBAR and website have been updated to include additional information, resources and strategies for addressing the current IV fluid disruption. To help gain situational awareness, refine resources and advocate for hospital members, all impacted hospitals are asked to report current or anticipated IV fluid shortages using the Supply Chain Shortage Reporting Tool form in EMResource or the available online survey.

An IV Fluid Shortage Touchpoint will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, to review current supply chain shortages, provide updated resources, and discuss quality, infection prevention and other recommended strategies. Registration is required.

The Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative, in partnership with MHA, is offering a limited number of one-time stipends of $10,000 to any MO PQC participating hospital. This stipend is intended to support implementation efforts within hospital birthing facilities to implement universal screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT) and Eat, Sleep, Console.

Stipends will be disbursed over two payments. Organizations must complete a Gap Analysis and 30/60/90-Day Plan by the close of business Wednesday, Dec. 4, to receive the initial $5,000. Additionally, organizations must complete the selected activities and provide sufficient documentation to MHA/MO PQC by Monday, March 31, 2025, to receive the remaining $5,000.

Interested hospitals should complete this form to officially apply for the stipend, and select at least one of the eligible activities by COB Thursday, Oct. 31. Awards will be made in the order of receipt until funding is exhausted.
