JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders presented its 2022 DAISY Nurse Leader Award to Nancy Weiss, BSN, R.N., CPN, Nurse Manager at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. The award was presented at the MONL Annual Conference.

The MONL DAISY Nurse Leader Award was established to recognize exceptional nursing leadership that demonstrates compassion and respect for the care front-line nurses provide. These leaders value the impact staff have on patients and their families, and create an environment where compassion is valued and recognized.

“Throughout her 37 years at the hospital and 15 years as a nurse leader, Nancy’s practice exemplified a passionate and dedicated nurse,” said Catherine Hamilton, MSN, R.N., NEA-BC, MONL President, and Chief Nursing Officer at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Mo., and Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Mo. “As a trusted and long-serving nurse leader, she is a mentor for new leaders and a role model for all nurses.”

MONL is a professional membership group of the Missouri Hospital Association and an affiliated local group of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders.

The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 140 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public about health care issues.
