The Missouri Division of Professional Registration will launch a new licensing portal in January 2025. The current licensing system will be retired Jan. 3, with the new system going live Tuesday, Jan. 14. MHA will provide updated information as the transition occurs.

Show-Me ECHO will offer a Medical Forensic ECHO on Wednesday, Feb. 5, which will provide insights for providers from the prosecutor’s perspective. Continuing education will be offered. Visit showmeecho.org for more information.
Hospitals should prepare for the go-live of the Missouri TeleSANE Network by working with a hub site or implementing a process for around-the-clock sexual assault nurse examiner coverage. Proposed regulations are expected to be published in the coming weeks.

HRSA announced a new Notice of Funding Opportunity to increase the number of primary care residents trained in the Residency Training in Street Medicine Program. The $9.5 million per year award will be granted to approximately 19 grantees over a five-year period.
Eligible applicants include accredited public and nonprofit private hospitals, accredited schools of medicine and osteopathic medicine, and public and private nonprofit organizations. Applicants also must operate a residency program in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, or a combined internal medicine and pediatrics.

Col. Angela Diebal-Lee became the new hospital commander at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, effective Nov. 1, 2024. Col. Diebal-Lee replaced Col. Stacey Amos, who served as the hospital commander since July 2022.

Alejandro Quiroga, M.D., MBA, was appointed the next president and CEO of Children’s Mercy Kansas City, effective Jan. 2. Dr. Quiroga previously served at Corewell Health, the largest health care system in Michigan. There, he was president of Corewell Health West and held several other leadership positions, including chief medical officer of ambulatory and population health.
Paul Kempinski, who served as the president and CEO of the hospital since November 2018, will stay on through January 2025 to assist with the transition.
