DHSS announced a delay in the statewide launch of the Sexual Assault Forensic Exam via Telehealth (SAFEvT) Network. The department’s intent is to launch as close to the beginning of 2025 as possible. Additional details will be forthcoming. MHA staff Sarah Willson or Amy Schwartz are available to answer questions and help connect hospitals to resources.

HRSA released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity to increase the number of highly trained behavioral health providers across the nation. HRSA will award one cooperative agreement of approximately $2.5 million per year over a period of four years.
The Behavioral Health Workforce Development Technical Assistance Program aims to provide tailored technical assistance to current and future HRSA-funded programs. View the funding opportunity for complete eligibility information. Applications are due Monday, March 3, 2025.

MHA created a webpage for convenient access to materials related to MO HealthNet’s conversion to DRG-based reimbursement next June. The webpage currently includes FAQs on the new methodology, and additional resources will be posted as they become available. Hospital-specific analysis also will be released soon through a secure portal.

MACPAC published the 2024 MACStats Data book. The data book compiles updated data on national and state Medicaid and CHIP enrollment, spending, benefits, beneficiaries’ health, service use and access to care.

Melody Trimble has been named the transitional CEO of Ozarks Healthcare, West Plains, Mo., effective Nov. 15. Trimble holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and brings extensive leadership experience to the role. She succeeds Thomas Keller who has served as the President and CEO since Feb. 2014.
