CMS Issues Revised Vaccination Guidance
NIH-funded Studies Show Damaging Effects Of Vaping On Blood Vessels

CMS announced that consumers now can visit HealthCare.gov to view details about 2023 Marketplace plans and prices. According to CMS, four out of five customers will be able to find a plan for $10 or less after subsidies. Approximately 92% of enrollees will have access to options from three or more insurance companies. Marketplace open enrollment begins on Tuesday, Nov. 1. CMS also published the following resources and information.

CMS issued revised guidance on staff vaccination requirements, survey procedures and enforcement. QSO 23-02-ALL replaces all previous guidance and is effective immediately. Hospitals should expect most compliance issues to be cited at a standard or conditional level. Any state agency wishing to cite at an Immediate Jeopardy level must notify the Regional Office before an IJ citation.

Two new studies supported by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) show that long-term use of electronic cigarettes, or vaping products, can significantly impair the function of the body’s blood vessels, increasing the risk for cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the use of both e-cigarettes and regular cigarettes may cause an even greater risk than the use of either of these products alone.
