This week, several state legislative interim committees met. These committees delve into specific topics and make recommendations for future legislative action.
- MHA, the Missouri Foundation for Health, the Missouri Association of Health Plans and the MO HealthNet Division were invited to testify before the Senate Interim Committee on Medicaid Accountability and Taxpayer Protection. Topics include network adequacy in Medicaid managed care, technology to improve care coordination, primary care health homes, value-based payment and the need to invest in the Medicaid information technology system.
- Several health care providers and the Health Forward Foundation made the case for more funding for telehealth capacity and services to the House Interim Committee on Broadband Development.
- The Subcommittee on Mental Health Policy Research of the House Health and Mental Health Policy Committee held a second hearing to discuss behavioral health issues. The committee heard from community-based providers on topics such as access to community mental health services, crisis intervention, emergency room enhancement and 988.
