MHA will present a 2024 Visionary Leadership Award to Dr. Jennifer Watts, Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician, Chief Patient Progression Medical Officer and Chief Medical Emergency Management Officer at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Kansas City, Mo.

Watts’s work was foundational in the launch of the hospital’s Patient Progression Hub. In addition, the award recognizes her leadership — through the Patient Progression Hub and on site, managing pediatric care — during the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally in February.

The award will be presented at MHA’s 102nd Annual Convention in Kansas City, Mo., during the Celebration of Achievement Awards Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 14.

In addition to the Visionary Leadership Award, MHA will honor recipients of the Trustee of the Year Award, Aim for Excellence Award and Distinguished Service Award. Join your peers to celebrate these milestones with the winners at the awards dinner.

Mosaic Medical Center – Maryville named Scott Koelliker as the interim president, effective Oct. 31. Koelliker has over 30 years of experience in health care and is currently serving as the interim COO at the facility. He replaces Nate Blackford, who served as the president since 2019.

Vigilor from TRIMEDX, a division of Indianapolis-based clinical asset management company TRIMEDX, was recently selected as a cybersecurity vendor for APS members.

Vigilor, which delivers clinical engineering services, clinical asset informatics, and medical device cybersecurity, offers a range of capabilities aimed at identifying and mitigating cybersecurity threats and patient safety risks tied to connected devices. The company currently manages over 2.3 million medical devices nationwide.
