Missouri’s specialty Medicaid managed care plan, Show Me Healthy Kids, begins Friday, July 1, but the plan will not cover residential and other community-based rehabilitative services until Saturday, Oct. 1. The delay will allow time for the SMHK administrator, Home State Health, to contract, credential and enroll residential and other community-based providers of therapeutic care for foster children that typically are not included in the plan’s traditional managed care network. During the delay, these services will continue to be paid for by the Children’s Division. This delay does not apply to traditional behavioral health care services (individual therapy, group therapy, etc.) provided to foster children.
