CMS Awards Open Enrollment Navigator Grants
Missouri Improves In Kids Count Rankings

CMS awarded grants to 59 navigator organizations for the upcoming 2023 marketplace open enrollment period. Navigators also assist citizens with applications for Medicaid and CHIP coverage. Four Missouri organizations were awarded contracts: Missouri Primary Care Association, Jefferson County Community Action Corporation, Missouri Alliance for Area Agencies on Aging and Swope Health Services.

Missouri has improved in the latest Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count rankings of children’s well-being, although we continue to score below average among all states. For 2022, Missouri ranked 34th in children’s health and 27th in child well-being overall. Missouri ranked 38th and 30th in these categories for 2021.
ATTEND: The CDC is hosting a COCA call at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, to discuss the history of polio in the U.S. and the current New York state outbreak. They also will review clinical aspects of poliovirus infection, how to report suspected cases and recommendations for polio vaccination.
