On Tuesday, the Senate passed supplemental appropriations to fund the operations of Missouri government for the balance of the current state fiscal year. The $2.2 billion budget bill includes $1.4 billion for federal COVID-19 relief, as well as $580 million for costs related to Medicaid caseload growth resulting from federal law prohibiting the state from removing individuals from Medicaid coverage while the COVID-19 public health emergency is in effect. The House and Senate must reconcile the differences in their respective bills and adopt a final supplemental budget by Friday, May 7.
