DHSS issued a Health Update to health care providers and laboratories indicating it no longer is requiring or accepting negative SARS-COV-2 test results. CMS provided clarity to CLIA laboratories in states where negative results no longer are being accepted, stating they may keep a copy of the state communication ending the collection in their files and discontinue reporting negative results. Hospitals that maintain a copy of the DHSS communication and no longer report negative test results will be considered compliant with the federal guidance on reporting. All positive test results should continue to be reported.
