JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A new strategic collaboration between the Hospital Industry Data Institute and the Tiger Institute Health Alliance will help advance near real-time data to the front lines of care to improve patient care and value throughout the health care system in Missouri.

“The power to improve health and health care is grounded in collaboration,” said Theresa Roark, MHA Senior Vice President of Research, Data and Information Services, and leader of HIDI. “HIDI continues to expand its partnerships to deliver knowledge to the front lines of care to improve performance throughout the health system and achieve better care for patients.”

Combining HIDI’s predictive alerting, watchlists and integrated public health data, and Tiger Institute’s information exchange capacity, will expand clinicians’ opportunities to make informed decisions about patient status, care and management.

“This strategic collaboration builds on the value provided to hospitals by Tiger Institute,” said Mike Seda, Senior Director, Health Alliance for Tiger Institute for Health Innovation. “Connectedness, combined with analysis and alerting, will allow better decision-making and create opportunities for improved patient outcomes.”

Health information exchanges provide the gateway to collaboration between clinicians and health care organizations. Through the collaboration, hospitals will be better able to serve patients as HIDI’s tools extend the value of their health data to manage patients throughout the continuum of care. This data enrichment will help identify risk and allow the health system to reduce unnecessary care while improving health.

“This is a significant announcement for HIDI- and Tiger Institute-partnered hospitals,” said Herb B. Kuhn, MHA President and CEO. “The collaboration will allow hospitals and other health care partners to improve operational and clinical effectiveness.”
