Gov. Parson and key leaders in his administration participated in a conference call with the MHA membership on the state’s response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. It was the 25th such call with the MHA membership since the pandemic began. The calls provide an opportunity for an update on state activities and hospital issues, and for hospital executives to ask questions and make comments.
This call focused on the distribution and administration of COVID-19 vaccine. The governor gave a preview of his pending announcement to activate the Missouri National Guard to help support the vaccination effort. Parson also called on hospitals to administer, not stockpile, their vaccine. Further discussion and questions addressed the metrics of success in the vaccination initiative and the process for managing the second dose of the vaccine series.
