No More Surprises – A Discussion of The Surprise Billing Interim Final Rule

Audience

CEOs, COOs, CFOs, hospital finance personnel and health care attorneys

Overview

On July 1, 2021, the Biden administration released the first set of interim final rules implementing the No Surprises Act. Included as part of the December 2020 Consolidated Appropriations Act, the No Surprises Act is intended to protect patients from surprise medical bills for emergency services, air ambulance services provided by out-of-network providers, and nonemergency services provided by out-of-network providers at in-network facilities. The new law takes effect Jan. 1, 2022.

This event will highlight ways that providers should prepare to comply with the new rule, as well as preview what lies ahead in future rule-making and address specific areas of comment related to the interim final rule.
