Women Executives Network

Women are critical stakeholders in health care — as workers, caregivers and consumers.

Women’s share of the total labor force is 46.8%, yet on average, they spend more than twice as much time caring for and helping household members. Women also bear a disproportionate burden of informal caregiving for family members, friends and neighbors, serving as 66% of all caregivers. On top of all this, women often serve as the “chief medical officer” of the home — making the majority of health care decisions and health care purchases for the entire family. In response to the growing female executive population and requests for additional support from members, MHA developed a Women Executives Network Group.
