Office 365 is a collection of online services and desktop applications connected by powerful collaboration features. We still use the familiar applications like Word and Excel, but even these apps have different features when used in Office 365. What seem to be small differences between Office and Office 365 are huge shifts from computer-based products to cloud-based software. Whether your organization is planning a move to Office 365 or you’ve already migrated, you may have the following questions.

  • How is Office 365 different than the Office suite I’ve been using?
  • What are the newest features in Office 365 (and how do I use them)?
  • How do I decide where to store my files?
  • When should I use Groups? Teams? SharePoint? OneDrive?
  • How do I share files from OneDrive and Teams?
  • What are the best practices for collaborating in Office 365?
  • How and when might I use Office apps like Stream, Forms, Planner and ToDo?
  • How can I store files so they will be backed up?
  • Can I get a sneak preview of what’s coming before it hits my desktop?

1 p.m. — What’s New in PowerPoint and Excel

There are some great new tools built into PowerPoint 2019 and PowerPoint 365. In this session, you will learn how to use the newer features in PowerPoint, include the following:

  • Designer, which provides options for presenting slide content
  • Zoom summaries for navigating long presentations
  • Inking feature on PowerPoint for mobile devices
  • Inserting 3D models from Remix 3D, as well as other features added in quarter one of 2020

We’ll also explore these features in Excel that can be useful when creating presentations.

  • Creating maps from geospatial data
  • Add and reply to cell comments
  • Create a table from a picture of a table (no kidding)

If you have an issue with a specific document, please bring a copy of the file (with data if it is OK to share with others) on a USB, and we will look at it together.

In "It Takes 4 To Tango," Candy Whirley has two meanings when it comes to her “4.” First, she will take you through her 4 C’s of Leadership. Second, you will go on a brilliant exploration of four personality styles that will make you think, laugh, even dance, and recognize your true self and others. Participants will network with the four personality types (chameleon, lion, lamb and owl), providing opportunities to have open and honest conversations.

Learn how to overcome personality differences that lead to problems by acquiring the secrets to connect and partner with other personality styles. You will leave understanding how to treat others like they want to be treated and recognizing that people are not difficult, they are just different.

Takeaways:

  • Understand filters (your brain tape recorder) and be more confident about who you are as a leader.
  • Understand how negative behaviors can sabotage you.
  • Learn four easy communication steps to giving feedback the good, the bad and the ugly.

Charitable Organization

This year’s MHCEA charitable organization is The Women's Safe House. Founded in 1977, The Women’s Safe House serves as a haven for women and children (ages 0-18) who are in immediate danger and fleeing domestic abuse. The organization offers a full range of programs and services for 400-500 women and children annually, including a Crisis Hotline, Residential Program, Children’s Residential Program, AfterCare Program and Community Education. Individuals have access to 12 weeks of safe shelter, including meals, clothing and personal care items; group and individual educational sessions; children’s programming; legal advocacy; financial literacy workshops; transportation assistance; job placement guidance; and support in finding new safe housing. Children are provided a nurturing environment where they can play or take part in structured activities. TWSH’s services work to empower women to make informed choices about their future.
