State House Advances FRA Reauthorization Legislation

The state House of Representatives approved legislation to reauthorize the hospital Federal Reimbursement Allowance and the other state provider taxes used to generate additional federal matching funds for the Medicaid program. The bill extends the expiration of the provider taxes for an additional year, through Sept. 30, 2021. It now moves to the Senate.

CMS Updates 2020 QRDA I

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has published an update to the 2020 CMS Quality Reporting Document Architecture Category I Schematron and Sample File for Hospital Quality Reporting. The schematron provides technical instructions for reporting electronic clinical quality measures for the calendar year 2020 reporting period for the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program and Medicare and Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Program for Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals. CEO Announcements

St. Luke’s Hospital Names Interim President And CEO

St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo., announced that Gary Olson will serve as interim president and CEO, effective April 2. Olson is former president and CEO of St. Luke’s and has 35 years of service with the hospital. He replaces Christine Candio, who is leaving April 1 to move back to the East Coast to be closer to her family. A list of CEO changes is available online.
