CMS Announces Primary Care First Request For Applications And Webinar

The Primary Care First Request for Applications and Practice Applications are live on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ website. Practice applications are being accepted, and the deadline to apply is Jan. 22, 2020. The Primary Care First Model Options will be offered in 26 regions throughout the U.S., including the Greater Kansas City region.

The Primary Care First Model Options team is hosting a webinar at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, to review information needed to submit an application. The team will discuss the various parts of the application as well as frequently asked questions.

HRSA Announces Notice Of Funding Opportunity For Residency Training

The Health Resources and Services Administration is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2020 Primary Care Training and Enhancement: Residency Training in Primary Care Program. The application cycle closes on Jan. 24, 2020.

The PCTE-RTPC Program provides funding to enhance accredited residency training programs in family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, or combined internal medicine and pediatrics in rural and/or underserved areas.

TJC Announces Pioneers In Quality eCQM Expert To Expert Webinar

The next webinar in The Joint Commission Pioneers in Quality electronic clinical quality measures expert to expert series is offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3. The webinar will review measure logic and common issues related to the ePC-01 and ePC-02 measures. Registration is required.

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital Names New President

Ann Abad has been named president of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in St. Louis, effective Monday, Dec. 2. Abad currently serves as vice president of operations for Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, where she has overseen operational and strategic development for the hospitals for the past eight years. She joined BJC HealthCare in 2005 as strategic planning manager at BJC Medical Group and eventually was named vice president of strategic planning for BJC HealthCare. Abad replaces Trish Lollo, who was named president of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, effective Sept. 3. A list of CEO changes is available online.
