Uninsured Rate Increases For The First Time Since The ACA

Due to provisions within the Affordable Care Act, the uninsured rate decreased from more than 44 million in 2013 to just below 27 million in 2016. A new study from the Kaiser Family Foundation released results from 2017, and the uninsured rate increased from 26.7 million in 2016 to 27.4 million in 2017. In states that expanded Medicaid eligibility, the uninsured rate decreased by 0.1 percent, while the uninsured rate in states that did not expand increased by 0.6 percent. In Missouri, the uninsured rate increased from 10.6 percent to 10.8 percent.

TJC Posts An Additional Update To Specifications Manual Addendum 2018B1

Posted to The Joint Commission Performance Measurement System Extranet Track is an additional update to Appendix A of version 2018B1 of the Specifications Manual for Joint Commission National Quality Measures. The update includes corrections to Table 11.09, Multiple Gestations and Other Presentations. Version 2018B1 is effective with discharges/ encounters dated Jan. 1 through June 30, 2019.
