CMS Releases 2Q2018 IQR And OQR Submission Resources

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reminded hospitals participating in the Inpatient and Outpatient Quality Reporting programs of the following second quarter 2018 (April – June) submission deadlines.

  • Thursday, Nov. 1 — OQR clinical data
  • Thursday, Nov. 1 — IQR population and sampling data
  • Thursday, Nov. 15 — IQR clinical data, healthcare-associated infection, perinatal care elective delivery measure

CMS Updates Inpatient And Outpatient CART

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Abstraction and Reporting Tools have been updated to support recently released specifications manuals.

  • CART Inpatient Version 4.21 (discharges July 1 – Dec. 31, 2018) contains updates related to sepsis and ICD-10 code modifications to Appendix A to support Version 5.4a of the Specifications Manual for National Hospital Inpatient Quality Measures.
  • CART Outpatient Version 1.16.2 (encounters Oct. 1 – Dec. 31, 2018) supports Outpatient Quality Reporting Specifications Manual Version 11.0b.
