The Missouri Hospital Association has honored Missouri Senator Caleb Rowden with the Health Policy Leadership Award. The award was presented on Thursday, Nov. 2, during an awards luncheon at the Missouri Hospital Association’s 95th Annual Convention & Trade Show in Osage Beach, Mo.
Rowden was the sponsor of legislation enacted in the 2017 legislative session to reverse the Jefferson v. Missouri Baptist state appeals court ruling. The legislation was a top hospital-community priority, as the ruling was having a significant adverse effect on Missouri hospitals’ malpractice liability exposure and premiums.
Rowden represents the 19th senatorial district, which includes Boone and Cooper counties in mid-Missouri. He was elected to the Senate in 2016 after serving two terms in the Missouri House of Representatives.
