MHA Comments On Proposed 340B Regulation Delay

MHA has submitted comments in opposition of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ intention to delay the implementation of regulations that would establish price ceilings and civil penalties for pharmaceutical manufacturers that overcharge 340B providers. After a comment period that lasted nearly seven years, and multiple delays, MHA opposes HHS’ proposal to once again delay implementation until July 2018.

MHA Distributes Analysis For FFY 2018 Medicare Final LTCH PPS

MHA has made available an analysis which illustrates the financial effect of the federal fiscal year 2018 Medicare final long-term care hospital PPS rule. After the application of the site-neutral payment reduction, the net effect on Missouri hospitals will be an estimated 4.3 percent reduction in payments. Although footnoted, the effects of the 2 percent median sequestration are not included. The analysis, which will be available online for authorized users of HIDI Analytic Advantage,® includes a summary for the nation, state, health systems and individual hospitals.

AHA Hosts Care For The Caregiver Webinar

The American Hospital Association's Hospitals Against Violence initiative will host a webinar 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, to educate participants on a program designed to address the needs of hospital caregivers experiencing stressful events or outcomes during patient care. Leaders from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., will discuss their Care for the Caregiver program and the benefits of creating a program that cares for health professionals.
