MO HealthNet Posts Ambulance, Behavioral Health Payment Changes

The MO HealthNet Division has published provider bulletins on payment rates for ambulance and behavioral health services for the state fiscal year beginning July 1. The maximum allowable rates are reduced by approximately 3 percent as provided in the state budget. However, rates for ground ambulance base codes include a $45 increase also included in the state budget bills.

Senate Leader Shifts Efforts On ACA Repeal

With flagging support for the latest version of U.S. Senate legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) acknowledged that “the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful.” He said that “in the coming days,” the Senate will vote on a proposal to repeal the ACA with a two-year delay to develop a replacement law. When a “repeal now, replace later” strategy was proposed very early in the Trump Administration, the MHA Board of Trustees endorsed an advocacy principle against it, and staff conveyed that stance to federal legislators. Earlier this year, Senate leadership delayed repeal legislation, which faltered for lack of support.

CMS Announces Next Open Door Forum

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has scheduled the next Rural Health Open Door Forum at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 19.
