Staff Contacts: Alison Williams or Mary Shackelford

Today, the MHA Hospital Leadership and Quality Assessment Tool Survey Project for Missouri Hospital Improvement Innovation Network hospitals was launched. The survey is designed to provide hospitals with an assessment of how board members, C-Suite members and clinical managers rate their own performance on the structures, processes and leadership activities that are associated with high performance in achieving a culture of safety and health outcomes. This project has two optional phases. The HLQAT survey complements the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Hospital Culture of Safety survey. An FAQ document about the survey is available.

HCAHPS Announces Patient Perspectives On Care Survey Deadline

Staff Contact: Sherry Buschjost

The submission deadline for the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient perspectives on care survey data for first quarter 2017 discharges (Jan. 1 to March 31) is Wednesday, July 5. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services encourages all hospitals to submit data at least two days before the deadline to allow time to address any submission issues. Inpatient PPS hospitals participating in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program must collect and submit HCAHPS data to qualify to receive their full annual payment update. Non-IPPS hospitals must meet the same submission deadline for their data to be published on Hospital Compare.

The review and correction period is Thursday, July 6, to Wednesday, July 12, during which participating hospitals may access and review the HCAHPS data review and correction report. New data are not accepted into the warehouse during the review and correction period, but corrected data can be resubmitted to replace incorrect data.
