Hospital Managers Graduate From MHA Leadership Series

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Forty-five hospital managers graduated from the Missouri Hospital Association Center for Education’s Health Care Leadership Series on March 27. The program provides leadership training to a diverse cross section of hospital and health care supervisors and managers.

“In today’s highly demanding health care environment, managers must possess various skills to create value for their organizations,” said Marc D. Smith, MHA president. “The leadership series offers health care leaders the skills needed to strengthen their organizations and improve the quality of services.”

The series consists of comprehensive, leadership training courses designed to enhance hospital staff’s managerial skills. The seven-month program includes training sessions featuring topics on building and retaining customer relationships, producing a high-performance workforce, designing and revising processes to ensure quality performance and understanding hospitals’ budgets and finances.

“Our faculty includes some of the most highly regarded experts in health care,” Smith said. “Graduates of the Health Care Leadership Series are poised to make significant contributions to health care in their communities.”

The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 152 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
