Data Source

The data source for the indicators in the MHA Hospital Performance Project is uniform billing data submitted by participating hospitals to the Hospital Industry Data Institute. HIDI collects the uniform billing information from MHA-member hospitals that voluntarily participate in HIDI via their association membership. Because HIDI has the data required for reporting project indicators, no duplicate collection or reporting of data by participating hospitals is necessary. The UB data also are submitted by HIDI to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services on behalf of participating hospitals to meet state law requirements for reporting hospital UB data to the state of Missouri.
