National HIT Coordinator Announces SHARP Program

David Blumenthal, M.D., national coordinator for health information technology, announced the availability of $60 million in Recovery Act funds for the development of the Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects program. Funding will support four research projects designed to find solutions for health IT adoption
challenges. Applicants interested in the SHARP program can participate in a technical assistance call from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22.

MO-HITECH Posts New Meeting Dates, Updates Communications For Stakeholders

MO-HITECH has posted meeting dates for HIE workgroups online. Slides for meetings will be posted at least 72 hours before the sessions, and meeting notes will be posted online within a week following the sessions. Beginning this week, communications to stakeholders will be done primarily through a Web-based electronic notification and newsletter, MO-HITECH News. Users may use the site’s “E-List” to subscribe, unsubscribe or update contact information.

HIDI Online Adds New Outpatient GI Cube

HIDI Online's new outpatient gastrointestinal library includes data on outpatients who received GI services. Data are available for federal fiscal year 2006 through FFY 2008, as well as the first three quarters of FFY 2009.
