MHA Comments On Draft Definition Of ‘Meaningful Use’
MHA Staff Contact: Theresa Rogers
(7/1/09)

MHA submitted comments on the draft definition of “meaningful use.” MHA believed the proposed time line was too aggressive and recommended that the focus of the initial year should be directed toward establishing a strong base. Once this is established, progress can be made in the future toward more complex objectives. MHA encouraged the committee to consider linking achievable objectives to defined and achievable stages of electronic health records adoption rather than targets set for 2011, 2013 and 2015.
