QualityWorks® is an performance measurement system software and patient safety data collection tool that helps your hospital collect, report and analyze clinical quality data. Hospitals also can use the QualityWorks® core measure module to collect and transmit data for the Hospital Quality Alliance to The Joint Commission’s core measures, including the following.

Wanda Marvel
Vice President of Performance Measurement
Sherry Buschjost
Coordinator/Executive Assistant of Performance Measurement

  • congestive heart failure
  • acute myocardial infarction
  • pneumonia
  • pregnancy and related conditions
  • surgical care improvement project
  • hospital-based inpatient psychiatric services (pilot)
  • pediatric asthma measures

The QualityWorks® Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services module can help your hospital collect data for the CMS’ quality improvement projects, including the following.

  • congestive heart failure
  • acute myocardial infarction
  • community-acquired pneumonia
  • surgical care improvement project
  • other measure sets as implemented by the CMS

QualityWorks® is a Web-based data collection tool that is user-friendly, intuitive and efficient. The patient population for core measures is defined by the software for inclusion/exclusion criteria. QualityWorks® has embedded algorithms that decrease the abstraction time necessary for data collection by limiting data entry to the required data elements specific to each case.

Real-time reporting provides immediate feedback on performance for quality improvement opportunities. QualityWorks® facilitates other quality improvement initiatives through user-defined data collection fields. Web-based reports with graphing, trending and statistical capability are available immediately to users. In addition, national comparison reports for core measures can be exported to other databases and statistical packages for internal use. QualityWorks® physician reports support collection and analysis of data sorted by admitting and attending physicians or surgeons.

The QualityWorks® project is a cost-effective option that allows The Joint Commission-accredited and nonaccredited hospitals to collect and report defined data sets for internal quality improvement and benchmarking purposes.
