JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Hospital Association and the MHA Management Services Corporation recently welcomed Steven E. Renne to its staff.

Steven E. Renne

Renne joined MHA’s governmental relations department as vice president of FRA and children’s health policy. In this role, he will provide advocacy and support services for Missouri’s children’s hospitals while helping to guide policy for the state’s Federal Reimbursement Allowance program. The FRA is a hospital-provider tax program used to help fund Missouri’s Medicaid program.

A Columbia resident, Renne previously served as deputy director of the Missouri Department of Social Services. During his career with the DSS, he helped develop the state’s funding programs for Medicaid and was an important partner in the transition of Missouri Medicaid to MO HealthNet.

Renne received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia and is a certified public accountant. He is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.

The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 151 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
