JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Steven D. Wilkinson, president and chief executive officer of Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan., was elected to a one-year term as president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Healthcare Council. His term began Jan. 1.
As KCMHC president, Wilkinson’s responsibilities include presiding over council meetings and guiding discussions on association policies and activities. One of six MHA district council presidents, he will direct input from council members on national, state and regional health care policies to the MHA Board of Trustees. District council presidents also select recipients of MHA’s Excellence in Governance awards and the Visionary Leadership Award.

Wilkinson received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, and his master’s degree in health care administration from the University of Colorado in Denver. Before joining Menorah Medical Center, he served as a regional executive for the American Hospital Association and as president and chief executive officer of St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan. Wilkinson served as a delegate to the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and as chair of the Kansas Hospital Association. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 151 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
