JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Rudy C. Snedigar, administrator and chief executive officer of Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, Mo., was elected to a one-year term as president of the Missouri Hospital Association Southwest District Council. His term began Jan. 1.
As district council president, Snedigar’s responsibilities include presiding over council meetings and guiding discussions on association policies and activities. One of six MHA district council presidents, he will direct input from council members on national, state and regional health care policies to the MHA Board of Trustees. District council presidents also select recipients of MHA’s Excellence in Governance awards and the Visionary Leadership Award.

Snedigar received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, and a master’s of business administration from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. He previously served as chief financial officer and interim chief executive officer at Navajo Health Foundation and Sage Memorial Hospital in Ganado, Ariz. He served as chief executive officer at Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda, Iowa; Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa; Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield, Iowa; and the Medical Center of Independence in Independence, Mo.
The Missouri Hospital Association is a not-for-profit association in Jefferson City that represents 151 Missouri hospitals. In addition to representation and advocacy on behalf of its membership, the association offers continuing education programs on current health care topics and seeks to educate the public, as well as legislative representatives, about health care issues.
