The Missouri Hospital Association
organizes member outreach and
hospital visitation programs, district
council activities and member
satisfaction surveys as part of
membership services.
Membership services are coordinated
for three geographic sites.
- Jefferson City — MHA's corporate office
|
|
- St. Louis — A regional service of MHA, the St. Louis Metropolitan Hospital Council coordinates local
membership activities and initiatives for members in the bistate area of St. Louis and southern Illinois.
- Kansas City — A regional office of
The Health Alliance of MidAmerica,
the Kansas City Metropolitan
Healthcare Council coordinates local
membership activities and initiatives
for MHA and Kansas Hospital Association
members in the bistate area
of Kansas City. The Health Alliance
of MidAmerica is an affiliation of
the Missouri and Kansas hospital
associations.
The objective of the hospital visitation
program is to coordinate on-site
hospital visits by a senior MHA executive to:
-
identify key issues of importance
to each member
-
provide orientations for new chief
executive officers regarding MHA
services and programs
-
communicate key association
initiatives and obtain feedback
directly from hospital and health system CEOs
-
facilitate trustee and medical staff
education on key advocacy issues
-
coordinate professional
networking opportunities
Each MHA-member hospital has the
opportunity to participate in one of six district councils to exchange ideas in public policy discussions.
The district council structure also
serves as the vehicle for the election
of district trustees who serve and
represent each district on the MHA Board of Trustees.
The district council presidents annually
select the recipients of MHA’s
Excellence in Governance Award and the Visionary Leadership Award.
In its relationship with the American Hospital Association, MHA jointly
provides certain public policy and membership services to MHA and
AHA members. Members benefit
from the integration of MHA and
AHA membership activities, as well
as the coordination of on-site membership
visits and reinforcement of
federal public policy initiatives.
Membership in the Missouri
Hospital Association entitles
members to receive other services,
including the following.
- Membership
Directory
MHA maintains a comprehensive
database of member hospitals,
including names, titles, addresses,
phone and fax numbers, as well as
e-mail addresses of CEOs and select
senior staff.
- Personal
Membership Groups
MHA oversees a number of affiliated
group organizations known as personal
membership groups. PMGs
offer members professional networking
and education. MHA provides
staff support to each PMG by
assisting in coordinating ongoing
educational needs, maintaining
membership dues and rosters, and
keeping financial and data records.
- Job Placement Service
MHA maintains a resume file of
CEOs and other key management
positions to assist members in their
recruitment activities.
MHA strives to ensure its members’
needs are effectively met by conducting
member satisfaction surveys periodically. The information from
the surveys is used to establish
strategic priorities and future
organizational goals, as well as to
obtain member feedback on the
value of MHA services.
The Missouri Hospital Association
