In Missouri, CEO turnover remains at an alarmingly high
percent. CEO’s are a vital part of the health care team — their leadership can
determine the success of the hospital or health system.
Unfortunately for Missouri, 19 percent of our hospital CEOs
retired or left their facilities in 2016. CEO turnover can have a disruptive
impact on hospitals and the communities they serve. Therefore, it is essential

Hiring a competent CEO is the No. 1 role of a hospital
board, and perhaps one of the most important decisions the team will make. Each
hospital has different needs, and every candidate is unique; however, with
certain guidelines and tips, the search process can yield successful results. Most
hospital boards that have not hired a CEO in a number of years would benefit
from reviewing the contemporary executive search process, as well as
