DHSS Develops Chronic Disease Toolkit

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has developed a chronic disease toolkit for seniors. It provides education and resources on the following topics: preventing chronic diseases, arthritis/osteoporosis, asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, HIV/STD/hepatitis, cancer, falls and prescriptions.

CMS Announces IQR Outreach And Education Webinar

An outreach and education webinar for participants in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27. The webinar, titled “Question and Answer Session II – CY 2016 eCQM Reporting,” is the second of two sessions devoted to addressing questions related to the mandatory electronic clinical quality measure submission process for the hospital IQR and Medicare electronic health record incentive programs for calendar year 2016. Objectives of the presentation include troubleshooting common Quality Reporting Document Architecture Category I file submission errors to reduce the likelihood of file rejection, locating and using tools and reference materials to assist with submission activities, and performing the steps necessary for successful submission of QRDA Category I test and production files. Registration is required.

CMS Updates EHR Known Issues Documents

CMS Announces Data Center System Maintenance

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has announced planned system maintenance in the Healthcare Quality Information System Data Center from 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, through 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24. The secure file transfer and hospital quality reporting submission functionality will be unavailable during that time.

Mercy And St. Anthony’s Medical Center Enter Affiliation Agreement

Mercy and St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis have entered into an affiliation agreement, effective Feb. 21. The agreement would allow Mercy representation on St. Anthony’s board and St. Anthony representation on Mercy’s board. The agreement is expected to be completed in the spring, following regulatory approval.
