MHA Encourages Hospital Community To Weigh In On ACA Cuts

Staff Contact: Dave Dillon

On Friday, MHA mailed hospital CEOs a packet of resources related to funding cuts included in the Affordable Care Act that, if not repealed with coverage provisions of the law, could result in more than $9 billion in reduced revenue to Missouri hospitals between 2017 and 2026. Packets also included hospital- and system-specific totals.

MHA has created a webpage to outline the cuts by congressional district. The page includes links to lawmaker’s websites. We are asking all Missouri hospital staff to urge federal lawmakers to repeal the cuts as part of any repeal and replace law. We also urge all members of the hospital community to engage on this issue. Funding cuts were designed to pay for additional coverage for the uninsured. Leaving them intact without the additional coverage would cause significant financial harm.
